Project Brief

The objective was to create a VR training simulator for learning how to operate industrial equipment, such as bulldozers and smooth drum rollers, aimed at industrial employees. The VR training application is designed to enhance engagement in training while also reducing the costs associated with it.

Problem Statement

Training employees on real industrial equipment is costly, time-consuming, and often lacks the immersive engagement necessary for effective skill development. Traditional methods are limited by restricted access to equipment, leading to insufficient training outcomes.

Goals

The goal is to train employees on industrial equipment, like bulldozers and backhoes, using an immersive experience. This is more cost-effective and time-efficient than using real equipment.

Outcome

I created a VR app for Meta Quest that trains employees on industrial equipment like bulldozers, skid steers, backhoes, track hoes, and smooth drum rollers. This app reduces training costs for employers and improves training time and effectiveness for employees.


The final application is now live on the XR Guru Marketplace.

Over 2 months, I did user research, competitive analysis, wireframing, and prototyping. I also built a style guide for all 7 types of vehicles. The goal of this project is to provide more immersive and interactive training for employees.
